What if you just leave it? is the question I have been asking of a range of people since late 2019. This happened after reading Isabella Tree’s book Wilding and being inspired to look at rewilding as my major project for my MA in Photography.

Since then, I have talked to farmers, ecologists, landowners, NGO leaders, rewilders, national influencers, botanists, academics, beaver specialists and a stocksman, and have had the most amazing and interesting conversations; my thanks go to all of these kind and inspiring people.

This set of (mainly) photographic case studies, which links to my podcast of the same name on Spotify, is to present the issues around rewilding through case studies and use these to inform, enlighten and challenge people. The photos are done in my own style, and the interviews and extracts in the text are to help me make sense of the amazing amount of data I have collated.

Rewilding has so many benefits to nature, people and the planet, and it also means many things to many people, but nothing at all to a great many more. This is changing, but until more and more people understand it, and connect with nature more broadly, we will lose the battle.

If there is anything you don’t understand, please. go to the FAQs page. You can also contact me at any time with suggestions, corrections, and comments.

I hope you enjoy the case studies, and podcasts - they are best listened to and looked at together, the photos bring the podcast to life, and vice versa. If you like them, please share.
